Volume 12, Issue 3 Editorial
30 OCTOBER 2013
The staff of the Journal of Information Warfare (JIW) is very excited about this edition. The majority of these papers came from the 12th annual European Conference of Cyber Warfare and Security (ECCWS) held in July 2013 at the University of Jyvaskyla in Finland. This was an exciting event with a tremendous turnout of IW professionals meeting in a great setting.
The URL for that event is:

For those of our readers who are interested in participating in similar future events, there are a number of upcoming academic IW conferences with a focus on this research area. The most immediate venue is sponsored by the Security Research Institute from Edith Cowan University, on 2-4 December 2013 in Perth, Australia (http://conferences.secau.org/).
Following that, the 9th International Conference on Cyber Warfare and Security (ICCWS) will be held on 24-25 March 2014 at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, USA. The Conference Chair is Sam Liles, and the URL for that event is:

Finally, the 13th European Conference on Cyber Warfare and Security (ECCWS-2014) will be held from 3-4 July 2014 at the University of Piraeus, Athens, Greece. The URL is:

We are pleased to announce that JIW was recently selected for inclusion in the International Bibliography of the Social Sciences. Also, as promised in our last issue, the staff of JIW is increasing the journal’s publication schedule, with four editions a year (instead of three), and with eight papers per issue (instead of six). This is a 56% increase in content at the same subscription rate.
In conclusion, there are a number of changes being implemented for JIW and are excited about the future. We hope that you are too and that, as as we move forward, you help us spread the word about the changes, initiatives, and improvements being put in place. If you have colleagues who might be interested in or are already considering subscribing to our esteemed journal, let them know that now is the best time to get on board. For more information, encourage them to visit: http://www.jinfowar.com/subscribe/
Meanwhile, we look forward to working closely with you in the future as JIW continues its tradition of excellence, builds upon its record of success, and confirms its place among the best of the best publications in our field.
Regards,
L. Armistead
